HOW DOES THAT RELATE TO ART?
Creative expression was the driving force in my life. I wonder, where do these impulses and inspirations come from? It is not easy to tell because it is such a sensitive spot in me. I have an image of a border point, a crossing of two directions. It is like the interface of my experiences and the unknown. There is a filled space and an empty space in my imagination. In the empty space, something new can happen – it can come forward and develop. Nothing is predetermined here.
The filled space is the location of my adventures and experiences, the fundament of my daily decisions. I stand in the doorway that connects both spaces. My observation is that when I dare to give attention to the empty space, new ideas and unexpected things can occur. A good example is taking a walk in nature. You feel good and calm. Now there is a space for the good ideas – they come effortlessly.
You don’t have to be an artist to make use of that empty space. These impulses are valuable for any other area of life. They offer solutions that were not visible before. It is also the place that sees you already in your highest version of yourself. Here lies the potential of your real happiness. It provides a notion of how it could be. There is a silent joy. But the loud voices with their clever arguments to better drop it are drowning. The art here is to perceive the quiet tones, and it requires courage to follow the higher version.
THE MORE OFTEN, THE EASIER
I had many opportunities in my life to test this courage. The more often I dared, the easier I could overcome the feeling of insecurity. I started believing in my strengths. An essential experience is that life itself has an entirely positive power. Life supports us whenever we allow it.
By that I don’t mean that everything is easy – not at all. It depends on the point of view. Every challenge brings a gift – you learn something about yourself and your behavioural patterns. With every situation mastered you become more confident. The magic of life begins to work. You are more and more often in the right place, at the right time.
When I look back, i can say, wow, what a life.
YOU ARE IN GOOD COMPANY
And now a round of applause to everyone that irresistibly followed the quiet voice. I am inspired by the great ideas I stumble upon. Here is a small collection of people and organizations that astonished me:
- WINTERGATAN – MARBLE MACHINE – A FANTASTIC CONSTRUCT THAT CREATES A GENIUS SOUND WITH 2000 MARBLES
- MILLION WAYS – WHAT AN IDEA – A PORTAL FOR TALENTS AND DREAMS
- MARINA ABRAMOVIC – 2010 IN THE MUSEUM OF MODERN ART NEW YORK, THE PERFORMANCE ARTIST LOOKED IN THE EYES OF VISITORS FOR 600 HOURS. THE TITLE OF THIS PERFORMANCE: “THE ARTIST IS PRESENT”.
